On November the 4th I received an email from my agent at Curtis Brown announcing that Penguin YA were making an offer for Stone Girl. It would be 18 months until publication. On April 26, 2018 the book will be released.
This followed a meeting between the team at Penguin and myself a few weeks earlier. It was at a coffee shop near the Melbourne Penguin office where I was told over lattes that they loved my book. (Thrilled is an understatement!!!) I was informed that due to the content it could be a hard book to sell, but it was an important book and they were going to back me on it. I was asked if I was willing to talk about my past. I swallowed my fears and said I was.
