One day I sat down to work on my manuscript as usual. However, something else demanded to be written and I found myself switching to a blank document. The piece poured out of me. It was the kind of thing you write and bury away so it never sees the light of day but I decided to share it with my incredible writing group. They encouraged me to send it to the Grieve Competition which is run through the Hunter Writer’s Centre.
Well… it’s a finalist and will be published in their anthology. In early August the 22 prize winners will be announced. Obviously I would love to win. Every dollar I earn makes it possible for me to keep writing. But even if I don’t it’s nice to have made the final list. I am very much looking forward to reading everyone’s entries!!
